What's better than hot cheesy pizza? Hot cheesy pizza inside a sandwich. Umm, yes please! I hadn't made this in FOREVER! I actually forgot about it but when I was trying to think of good food to serve at your football functions this one popped in my head. It's so good and so easy. I love anything I can dip. Instead of adding the pizza sauce in the sandwich you use it for dip.
1 loaf of raw bread dough (I use the french loaf)
2 eggs, separated
1 tablespoon grated parm cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tsp fresh or dry minced parsley
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 jar pizza sauce
Your choice of pizza toppings (I use fresh mushrooms, pepperoni, olives, and green pepper)
In a bowl combine the egg yolks, parm cheese, oil, parsley, oregano, garlic powder, and pepper. Brush over the dough.
Sprinkle with your pizza toppings and your 2 cups of cheese. Don't use anymore than 2 cups of cheese. I've done it before, thinking I would make it extra cheesy. No bueno. It turned out to be a soggy mess. Oh, and one other thing...use a baking sheet with sides. I didn't do that this time and it dripped on the bottom of my oven. Kinda messy.
Roll up and tuck ends under. You want it all packed in there. :)
Place it seam side down and brush with the egg white.
Cook at 350 for 40 to 50 min.
Heat up your pizza sauce and use for dipping.
If you are feeding a lot of people I would suggest making 2 loaves because it disappears QUICK!
Here's a cooking hint since I've made this a few times and I've learned the easiest way; about half way through cooking, cut the whole thing in half. It will cook more evenly because the middle doesn't cook as fast as the sides. Nothing worse than eating raw dough!
ENJOY!

On a greased baking sheet, roll out the dough in a rectangle (or as close as you can get it)
